Academy and Festival of Lyric Art.

Vocal art and young talents are the common thread of "Lyriques d 'Azay Le Rideau" . Les Lyriques organize a lyric singing course open to trainees professional singers, students (minimum level 3rd cycle), confirmed singers from all over France, who will present during the week 2 concerts and a closing concert, alongside professionals, for the delivery of the trophy.

Organization and programming of lyrical masterclasses of interpretation and concerts by theme and period of composers, mixing instrumental and lyrical music:

for the 2023 season: Italy

- The Italian Masters of the 17th century

- Romantic Opera

Selection of 10 singers only by Masterclass

3 Soprani, 2 Countertenor, 2 tenor, 2 baritone, 1 bass

* For the Romantic Opera training

3 Soprani, 2 Mezzo soprano, 3 tenor, 2 baritone

The period: Summer season from Monday July 31 to Monday August 7, 2023

Registration (including courses, educational costs, production, accommodation, catering / Half-board) by trainee singers, instrumentalists in masterclass programs led by great French and international lyrical and instrumental voices.

ADMISSION PROCESS AND OPERATION

The Academy / Festival les Lyriques d'Azay Le rideau offers itself as a center of development, in the form of an interpretation masterclass, concerts in heritage places, as a hotbed of talent.

Les Lyriques d'Azay Le Rideau is an academy of lyric art and a lyric art festival, a pioneer in the dissemination of classical music in the Ridellois and strongly integrated into the local fabric (partnerships, volunteering, etc.). Thanks to a program of quality and resolutely diversified The work will be based on works belonging to the repertoire of opera, operetta, musical ... ... This festival is an expected meeting, both for the inhabitants and for the tourists !

Confirmed singers benefit from exchange and development time with French and international artists among the most specialized and seasoned in the fields of opera.

Singing requires physical and psychological strength, because the voice is the link between the body, emotions and thoughts: it is from a person in harmony with himself that the singer will be born! A joint work of physical, musical and scenic preparation makes it possible to develop the freedom and the imagination of the singer during concrete applications.

For the 2023 Season:

For the Romantic Opera Masterclass , participants are asked to prepare three opera arias, and two duets from the works of the following composers: Puccini, Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi) Work and rehearsals with piano, Italian repeater, director, and reduced orchestra of 15 musicians (3 first violins, 3 second violins, 3 viola, 2 cellos, 1 double bass, 1 clarinet, 1 flute, 1 piano)

The romantic period saw the arrival of Italian comic operas by Gioachino Rossini and the fullness of bel canto with Vincenzo Bellini and Gaetano Donizetti . But it is above all about the apogee of Italian opera with Giuseppe Verdi , the man who personified Italian opera, whose creativity was very prolific.

For the Masterclass Italian Masters of the XVIIth century , participants are asked to prepare . 3 solos and 2 duets by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Sanchez, Cesti, Strozzi ..... Work and rehearsals with 5 instruments : ( 1 organ, 1 harpsichord, 1 viola da gamba and 2 violins), Italian repeater, director.
